Dogs’ amazing comeback win

THE Bulldogs produced a second half shutout for the third week in a row, overrunning the Warriors to post a 34-18 win at Go Media Stadium, Auckland, on Friday.

In slippery conditions, there were a number of errors made early in the match and the Bulldogs were soon down 12-nil.
The Bulldogs got their opening points of the first half when Bronson Xerri scored but Matt Burton was unable to convert ahead of Bulldogs Captain Stephen Crichton claiming the ball to score.
They went ahead for the first time after Viliame Kikau slipped through defenders to make a break, finding Kurtis Morrin in support who ran in under the posts to score.
Burton’s conversion was successful for a 16-12 lead before the Warriors cashed in as the half-time break approached, going to the sheds up 18-16.
In a see-sawing second half with plenty of talking points, the Bulldogs scored when Harry Hayes went over to put his side in the lead once more.
The Bulldogs were in again twice more with Josh Addo-Carr touching down and Jacob Kiraz putting a stamp on their victory.
Coach Cameron Ciraldo said the win was a credit to the players.
“It didn’t start our way and we were down before getting back into the fight,” he said.
“The second half was much better and a great sign for us.”
The Bulldogs next face Manly on Friday from 6pm at Accor Stadium.
Other results: The Knock On Effect Cup, Bulldogs defeated by Warriors 42-10 and take on Manly from 2.15pm on Saturday at Belmore; and in the Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership, the Bulldogs were defeated by Steelers 30-4 and face the Sharks from 10am on Saturday at Belmore.
