Discover ‘paradise’ at Bushcare forum

WHEN most people think about the bush, they think about regional country areas but Cumberland is also home to an abundant offering of parks and reserves just waiting for you to discover and enjoy.

You can now learn about the different aspects of this paradise right under your nose at a free ‘Habitat, Ecosystem and Site Monitoring for Bushcare Volunteers’ workshop at Granville Centre this Sunday, May 23, 9am-3pm.
“You’ll discover how animals interact with the local environment and how to identify local populations through tracks, evidence of foraging, sound recordings, scats, nests/dreys/burrows and soil disturbance,” Cumberland Council’s Environmental Management Officer Nicole Collas said.
“We hope many residents will come along and learn what it takes for them to help care for and maintain our local nature reserves.”
Bring a water bottle, covered shoes and hat; light lunch will be provided.
Bookings essential at eventbrite.
