Dinner fundraiser brings in over $4,688 to aid in earthquake relief

RASHAYS Punchbowl raised more than $4,688 at its Friday night dinner for Islamic Relief Australia to help re-build Turkiye and Syria.

All funds from the night will be donated to help Turkiye and Syria recover from the ongoing crisis caused by the recent earthquakes with the 46,000 dead toll expected to double, 180,000 still under rubble and 6,000 buildings destroyed.
Speakers and guests included prominent members of the Turkish community and community leaders from the Muslim community, including Vice-Consul Bilal Aksoy from the Consulate-General of the Republic of Turkiye, Auburn Gallipoli Mosque’s Dr Abdurrahman Asaroglu, Imam Bilal Dannoun, Cr Bilal El- Hayek and State MP for Lakemba, Jihad Dib.
Attendees paid for their own meals and also made donations, with all funds going to aid the Turkiye and Syria Earthquake Appeal.
