Dine, discover world here

EASING Covid-19 restrictions is the perfect time to take advantage of the huge variety of dining experiences on offer, says Mayor Khal Asfour.

Urging residents to use the State Government’s $25 Dine and Discover NSW vouchers “right here” to support local businesses, he said having some of the best multicultural eateries came with being “one of the most diverse communities in not just Sydney, but NSW”.
“Middle Eastern, Chinese, Greek, Thai, Indian, Bangladeshi, Japanese, Vietnamese – you name it, you will find it in Canterbury Bankstown,” he said.
Under the program, each NSW resident aged 18 and over is eligible up to $100, divided into two $25 dinning vouchers to be used at restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs and clubs plus two $25 vouchers for entertainment and recreation venues, including cultural institutions, live music, and arts venues. Both sets of vouchers can be used seven days a week, excluding public holidays.
Under the revised Covid-safe rules, wearing of masks on public transport is no longer ‘mandatory’ although it remains ‘strongly recommended’.
Entertainment venues, including stadiums and theatres, can also return to 100 per cent capacity and there are no longer caps on numbers at funerals, weddings and on dance floors.
Restrictions on singing at places of worship were also lifted.
However after an outbreak in Brisbane last week, including concerns about visits to venues in Byron Bay, Premier Gladys Berejiklian called on everyone to continue using QR codes, to stay home if unwell and to get tested if they have “even the mildest of symptoms”.
“I hope that we do not have any cases in NSW but I won’t be surprised if we did, so we need to brace ourselves,” she said.
