Did you film brawl at Show?

POLICE are examining CCTV and social media footage after a violent brawl at the Sydney Easter Show on Monday night.

The incident began at 9.20pm in the carnival area of the showground at Sydney Olympic Park, with the first officers on the scene separating the group, most of whom dispersed into the crowd.
Detective Acting Inspector Paul Stamoulis from Auburn Police, said between 10 and 20 people were involved in the fight with two people treated for slash wounds to their legs, possibly caused by a knife, and both were assisting investigators with their inquiries.
He said a significantly larger crowd of between 100-200 people were also involved in following the two groups of fighters, “filming them and egging them on”.
“Officers have secured footage from a number of sources including social media and are trying to identify those people involved,” he said.
“Anyone with any footage of the incident is asked to contact Auburn Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”

Search home in blitz  on criminal networks
A WENTWORTH Point property was searched as part of a week-long crack down by officers from the State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad.
During the ‘Week of Action’ between April 7-13, NSW Police executed 42 Firearms Prohibition Orders (FPO) searches and search warrants targeting alleged organised criminal networks across Sydney.
Raptor Squad Commander, Detective Superintendent Jason Weinstein, said the operation was a multi-pronged attack and part of a high-visibility policing strategy “aimed at suppressing criminal behaviour”.
“Raptor Squad will continue to use its full arsenal of capabilities and take every opportunity to bring criminal gangs to justice to ensure the safety of the community,” he said.
