‘Delivery driver’ charged over shooting

A 20-year-old Campsie man was allegedly disguised as a delivery driver before shooting at a Wentworthville gym earlier this year.

He is the second man to be charged with intent to murder under Strike Force Berallier following a public place shooting outside a Wentworthville gym earlier this year.
Luckily no one was injured when shots were allegedly fired into the business on Wentworth Avenue about 7.45pm on Tuesday, February 20.
A short time later, a white scooter was found alight. It was seized to undergo forensic examination.
Early yesterday morning detectives arrested the 20-year-old man at a home on Charlotte Street, Campsie, about 4am.
He was charged with shoot at with intent to murder, discharge firearm intend cause grievous bodily harm, fire firearm in or near public place, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, possess unauthorised pistol, face blackened or disguised with intent to commit indictable offence, drive conveyance taken without consent of owner, unlawfully possess thing resembles number plate and two counts of drive motor vehicle during disqualification period.
