Deepwater Park could enjoy future with sport

CANTERBURY Bankstown doesn’t immediately conjure images of boating and water activities, says Cr Steve Tuntevski, however there are “some beautiful waterways that we should be activating for the benefit of our residents and visitors”.

He would like to see an area where families can picnic while enjoying water activities such as row boating, canoeing or kayaking, suggesting that Deepwater Park could present itself as a wonderful place for low impact recreational water sports.
As part of the future Masterplan for Deepwater Park, the council will give consideration to activating the inland water body and also write to NSW National Parks and Wildlife Services requesting they investigate the activation of Yeramba Lagoon.
