Customers raise enough to help 26 needy students

SHOPPERS at Punchbowl Officeworks have raised enough money to sponsor 26 students through The Smith Family as part of its Back To School Appeal.

Now in its seventh year, the appeal asked customers to donate in-store or online to help raise funds for students ahead of the new school year.
The program provides vital education support for students in need through a combination of financial assistance, personal support and access to out-of-school learning and mentoring programs.
The Smith Family CEO, Dr Lisa O’Brien, said: “Supporting a disadvantaged child throughout their education journey is vital for their future success.
“Research shows education is a pathway out of poverty, which is why The Smith Family focuses on supporting disadvantaged students with the tools they need to succeed at school.
“The support of the Officeworks Back to School Appeal and its customers, will go a long way to our work and supporting the education of children in need.”
Punchbowl Officeworks manager Katie Crisafulli said: ‘’The team were humbled by the generosity of our customers and how much we raised collectively.”
