Cupcake Day fundraiser to sweeten lives of neglected

ANIMAL lovers are being called to get baking and fundraise to help the 100,000 animals that turn to the RSPCA for protection each year.

Cupcake Day is being held throughout August and everyone’s encouraged to get together with their colleagues, schoolmates, family, and friends, for a tasty gathering of toothsome treats to raise funds for the RSPCA.
One of the RSPCA’s biggest supporters, State MP for Auburn, Lynda Voltz, said the RSPCA at Yagoona was one of our greatest local charities, looking after those animals who were often abandoned, unloved and mistreated.
Having first-hand experience – her “beloved dog, Bentley the Beagle” came from the RSPCA at Yagoona – she also encouraged residents to “get behind the RSPCA with a donation or join in and run your own little cupcake stall this year to help”.
“Better still, do both,” she said.
“And, anyone thinking of getting a family pet should make the RSPCA your first port of call.”
RSPCA NSW Community Fundraising Manager Ben Wilheim said it was the perfect excuse to indulge, “as each sweet treat can make a real difference to the lives of every animal coming into our care every single day”.
“Every dollar raised will have an immediate positive impact on animal welfare.”
