RESIDENTS came together to help Cumberland Council celebrate five years since Auburn and Holroyd Councils became one, last week. Five free community barbecues were held at five different venues each day last week to celebrate the “important milestone” – brought about by the NSW Government’s forced council mergers. Mayor Steve Christou said it was a pleasure to host the community barbecues and meet so many members of our community. “People are coming up to me and sharing their ideas with us, and that feedback is so valuable so we can continue making Cumberland City a great place to live in the years to come,” he said.
