Police were patrolling the Punchbowl area when a man was seen last Wednesday getting in an Alfa Romeo – reportedly been stolen from a Pennant Hills home last month – parked on Kylie Parade.
Police said when they approached the vehicle, the driver drove off. A pursuit was initiated but terminated due to safety concerns.
A short time later, the Alfa Romeo was allegedly involved in a crash with a Mercedes on Payten Avenue, Roselands and after failing to stop, continued on until it crashed into a fence on Vanessa Street, Kingsgrove.
A 25-year-old man was charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, two counts of take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence – people there, two counts of not give particulars to other driver, not give particulars to owner of damaged property, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, and never licensed person drive vehicle on road.

MEMBERS of the public detained a driver after he allegedly mowed down a fence in Kingsgrove, moments after he was involved in a police pursuit.
