The tiled surface had been partially removed in sections and thrown across the court and park, according to Councillor Steve Tuntevski who discovered the vandalism during an early morning walk later that day.
“It’s a shame that we have idiots who live among us that do these types of things,” he said.
“It’s really disappointing since this important community facility was only upgraded a year ago.
“It’s so important that we have high quality sporting facilities in the community so this act is unfathomable.”
Cr Tuntevski said the council was investigating concerns raised from residents about noise on the courts late at night, with police called out several times.
