Mayor Khal Asfour says the hard work council staff put in to support the community never ceases to amaze him.
“Sarah is incredibly passionate about supporting the young people in our City and helping them thrive,” he said.
“She’s often found organising and running programs at our Youth Centre, BYRC, or just lending the visitors a listening ear and helping hand.”
Youth Action is the peak body representing young people and the services that support them in NSW, advocating for positive change on issues affecting these groups. It founded the NSW Youth Work Awards in 2013 to create an annual celebration of the exceptional work of youth services and youth workers across NSW.
“We hear so often from young people that what makes a real difference in their lives is the worker who cares, and it is important to honour that,” a Youth Action spokesperson said.
