Costa springs up at popular festival

WITH two Logies to his name, including a coveted silver Logie for ‘Most Popular Presenter’, Gardening Australia host Costa Georgiadis will be returning for the Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival.

Costa will headline the festival’s Garden Day on Tuesday, August 20.
With Cherry Blossoms a barometer for changing weather patterns, the gardening themed day will have a strong focus on sustainability and living harmoniously with nature.
Highlights of Garden Day include: Public talks and Q&A with Costa; Native Australian Bonsai Workshops; Ikebana “Japanese flower arrangement” Demonstrations; The Cherry Trail: Self-guided tours of the Japanese Gardens; and a Sustainability Market Place.
Costa says we can’t make the Cherry Blossoms open; they open according to the terms and conditions that nature has set out.
“The Cherry Blossom reminds us that we are coming out of the dormant period of winter and nature is about to burst into the new season of spring,” he said
“We can take away a lot from the Cherry Blossoms and their total reliance on nature’s operating system. If we mess with the system then the blossoms will not do what we expect them to.
“So much of this we can apply to the big environmental picture.”
The Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival – August 17-25 – boasts more special theme days to inspire visitors of every age and experience, including kid’s day, seniors day, schools day and social media friendly days.
