Contravened AVO by contacting victim, 18

POLICE have charged a man from Regents Park with contravening an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) after an 18-year-old woman allegedly received multiple phone calls and written correspondence from the man, known to her.

The 24-year-old man was arrested on Thursday, October 12, during Operation Amarok IV, an intelligence-based, four-day, high-impact operation targeting the State’s most dangerous domestic violence offenders. Auburn and Cumberland police are still searching for a number of people who were wanted as part of the operation, with residents urged to check the local police Facebook pages to help find them.
