Condell Park man charged over carjacking

A MAN from Condell Park has been charged over an alleged carjacking in Mascot last night.

About 11.20pm (Thursday, June 16), emergency services were called to the intersection of Gardeners Road and O’Riordan Street, Mascot, following reports of a two-vehicle crash involving a Toyota Corolla sedan and a Ford Everest SUV.
The 38-year-old male driver of the SUV then allegedly forced the driver of a different Toyota Corolla sedan out of the vehicle and drove off in the car.
Less than half an hour later police stopped the car in Potts Point and arrested the driver, who was charged with assault with intent to take/drive motor vehicle, not give particulars to driver and refuse or fail to submit to breath analysis.
The driver of the Toyota involved in the crash was treated for minor injuries.
