Community bus rolls in for fun again

BACK on the road after a Covid forced suspension, Bankstown Canterbury Community Transport (BCCT) has a range of social events planned for the coming months and bookings are invited.

BCCT Chief Executive Officer Rachel Thompson is thrilled that the social events are now open for bookings and they can ”welcome back old friends”.
“We have missed many of our socially isolated elderly clients so much,” she said.
“We know they will appreciate the opportunity to go places together in a Covid-safe way and enjoy themselves once again.”
The events cater to a range of interests, and include a visit to Carriageworks Farmers Markets, a trip to the Hydro Majestic in the Blue Mountains, a NSW Art Gallery Tour, or shopping for garden items at Bunnings and Flower Power and more.
Rachel says the events are especially popular with seniors who have given up driving or prefer to venture around Sydney in the comfort of an air-conditioned bus where they can chat with friends and soak up the scenery.
The door-to-door transport is managed by BCCT, fully escorted, follows Covid-safe guidelines and uses BCCT vehicles. All attendees need to be fully vaccinated.
