Sport that helps young and old thrive in life
THIS year’s netball season doesn’t start until March 21 but registrations are set to open next month for all four family orientated clubs within the Parramatta Auburn Netball Association (PANA).
PANA representative coach and Parramatta Merrylands Primary Schools head coach Nicole Smith says netball is a sport which provides plenty of benefits in every day life as well as opportunities for personal growth.
“Netball at all levels provides us with opportunities to learn teamwork, sportsmanship and personal responsibility,” she said.
“These benefits transfer to everyday situations, providing social skills that allow us to thrive in the real world.
“I love seeing the confidence and leadership that children develop from participating in netball.”
Getting involved in netball can also open up opportunities to play at representative level or try your hand at coaching or umpiring.
Helping to cut costs, all PANA clubs are also registered providers for the Active Kids program with $100 vouchers available for each school-enrolled child. Details: sport.nsw.gov.au.

Newington Phoenix Netball Club is holding a Come and Try Netball and Player Registration Day at the Wyatt Park Netball Courts in Percy Street at Auburn on the same day from 10am to 3pm.
