Collect trash for ‘treasure’

RIVERSIDE Scavenge is coming to the banks of Cooks River this Sunday.

Picking up trash is not exactly on everyone’s weekend bucket list but what if you could trade that waterway litter for something worthwhile like treasure in the form of funky second-hand clothes, shoes, jewellery, books and much more.
You’ll be giving a second lease of life to pre-loved goods while cleaning up the coastline.
Add live tunes, some plastic-free living workshops and marine talks as well as a great vibe and you have every ingredient for a sweet session with Riverside Scavenge.
Not only will you help to stop rubbish ending up in our waterway, any litter you pick up, sort and catalogue at the event will become cash that can be used to purchase pre-loved clothing, toys, books and more donated by the community.
You might even score yourself some sweet prizes from local businesses.
Exchange trash for treasure and help clean-up the environment next Sunday, November 10, 9am-1pm, at Ewen Park in Hurlstone Park. For more info, find the event on facebook or eventbrite or to pre-donate, register at bit.ly/ssbankstown.
