Clubs offer entertainment to celebrate with all family

A KINDIFARM Petting Zoo at Canterbury Hurlstone Park RSL from 11-2pm, will keep the children entertained while families make the most of the fun offerings at the club this Friday to celebrate Australia Day.

Kick back and enjoy the tunes of So Fresh band from 12-3pm and ensure you grab a ticket in the $1,000 meat tray (drawn at 2pm) before feasting on the culinary delights especially created for the celebration.
There will be homemade, jam-filled Lamington fingers ($1.50) from The Cafe, half a kilo of prawns ($27 for members), Aussie Lamb Rolls ($13.50 for members) and Crumbed Lamb Cutlets ($27 for members) from Crinan St Kitchen and Herb-Crusted Lamb Rack or Slow-Roasted Lamb Shoulder ($36 for members) at The Hive.
All raffle proceeds will be donated to the SES.
Padstow RSL is once again staging a free sausage sizzle at 1pm ahead of its famous pie-eating competition from 2.30pm.
It costs $5 to enter but you must eat five pies and down a drink (schooner, wine or soft drink), with the first to finish winning the prize pot and trophy.
Family band Stringybark will present an Aussie music showcase while all the action takes place.
You can also head to Bankstown Sports Club to enjoy the dulcet tones of Ross Ward in the Rainforest Lounge, 2-6pm, followed by Honeybrook Duo, 7-10pm.
