Club staff donate day to aid charity supporting needy

NOT only did Bankstown Sports donate $50,000 early this year to registered charity ReLove which helps people in crisis within Canterbury Bankstown to establish a new home, the club has now committed a team of staff volunteers to help out for a day every second month.

Eight club staff members spent a day in June, helping ReLove pack items for delivery and then set up homes for the needy or those escaping conflict.
Supporting people in crisis who have been granted housing but have few possessions to their name, ReLove rescues good quality furniture that would otherwise end up in landfill and provides everything a client needs to make a house a home as soon as they move in.
“Bankstown Sports is proud to support ReLove as they carry on their mission to provide a safe place to support people who are trying to restart their lives,” the club’s Community and Wellbeing Advisor Isabella Cini said.
A ReLove spokesperson said: “We are lucky enough to have a dedicated and growing volunteer community. We would not be able to operate without the countless hours that our volunteers donate.”
