Club Championship win in Rugby Sevens contest

NOT only did Oatley Rugby Club host the Sydney Junior Rugby Union (SJRU) Sevens Championships at Riverwood Park last Sunday, they walked away with the big prize.

Over 600 boys and girls from U10s to U18s from all over Sydney, were battling to win the coveted age group championship.
Oatley performed well across the board contesting five finals on the day with the club’s U12s (pictured), coached by former Wallaby Tetera Faulkner, winning their age championship.
The club was rewarded by its strong performance by winning the Club Championship awarded to the best performing club across all age groups in boys and girls.
Around 2,000 spectators, in a real carnival atmosphere, were entertained by high quality Rugby Sevens with the stars of the future on display.
The club now turns its attention to 15 aside rugby as it prepares for the 2024 season. Oatley caters for all age groups, boys and girls U6s to U18s, together with its senior men’s team.
