Publicity officer and treasurer Jean Robson says they had just enjoyed a trip to an alpaca farm at Windsor last year when lockdown arrived.
“When things eased off a bit but you still couldn’t meet inside, a few of us would catch up at a local park for a picnic or coffee,” Jean said.
“East Hills Park, Lambert Reserve and Playford Park were some of our regular haunts but we are thrilled to re-commence our meetings again at Revesby Workers’ Club.”
Set to enjoy its second anniversary in May, Padstow Heights Probus was getting about 30 members attending when it first kicked off and the majority have returned.
“Our view is the more the merrier and we would welcome any retired or semi-retired men and women who would like to come to our meetings on the first Tuesday of the month at 11am to hear from a guest speaker and have lunch and a chat, and then join us on an excursion on the second Tuesday of the month,” Jean said.
“Yesterday, we took a train and a ferry to Watsons Bay and enjoyed fish and chips on the beach; it’s always a great day out, exploring somewhere different.
“If you’re looking for fun and friendship, we’d love to hear from you.”

Club adventure back thrill
WITH overnight trips to Flinders Ranges, Kangaroo Island and the Murray River to ride on a paddle steamer on the cards this year, Padstow Heights Probus Club members feel they have a lot of catching up to do after a covid-induced, very quiet 2020.
