Classic hits of ‘80s rock in

SYDNEY band ‘Back to the 80s’ front man Will Powers says you know you were an 1980s baby if you can remember cassette tapes, leg warmers and Sony Walkmans.

SYDNEY band ‘Back to the 80s’ front man Will Powers says you know you were an 1980s baby if you can remember cassette tapes, leg warmers and Sony Walkmans.

“If you didn’t have these in the 80s, you weren’t there,” said Powers.

The band will be playing their latest show, ‘Back to the 80s – the Music Video Show’, at Canterbury League Club on Saturday, June 15, from 8pm.

Their new show will feature the latest addition to their band, co-singer Anita Fischer, as well as original 80s video clips played perfectly in time with the live five-piece band.

“We’ve being doing this since way back in 2007,” Powers said.

“We were the first 80s tribute show in Australia purely because we had lived and loved the music so much that we wanted to share it with the new generation, but at the same time give people who remember the 80s, a nostalgic trip back in time.”

Expect a fully costumed show packed with classic pop and rock hits like Wake Me Up Before You Go Go, Karma Chameleon, Dancing On The Ceiling, Love Shack, Footloose, Don’t You Want Me Baby, Just Can’t Get Enough, Tainted Love, I Love Rock n Roll and many more.

Tickets: $7 and available at canterbury.com.au
