City to fly colours of the Bulldogs, Giants

CANTERBURY Bankstown will be flying the colours of the Bulldogs and GWS Giants as they head into the NRL and AFL finals.

Council will install street banners in the CBD, temporary banners in Belmore and Campsie, and also investigate options to decorate Burwood Road, Belmore, in support of the Bulldogs campaign towards the grand final.
Cr Charbel Abouraad said flying those clubs’ colours would not only foster a sense of community pride but also “show our unwavering support for them as they strive for victory”.
He said the true spirit and pride of Canterbury Bankstown was witnessed a few weeks ago, and began with 18,110 fans celebrating their win over the Canberra Raiders at the spiritual home of Belmore Oval, before the celebrations headed to Burwood Road which came alive with the colours of blue and white.
“So, what better way to continue this recognition but to add our own Blue and White to the City,” Cr Abouraad said.
“The grandstand at Belmore proudly displays the club’s premierships, the last one being in 2004. Let’s come together to break the 10 year drought and cheer the team home to a 2024 grand final.”
