‘Christmas with Dignity’ bringing joy to battlers

AIMING to meet the increased need in the community this Christmas, nationally recognised homelessness service charity, Dignity, is stepping up its efforts with more businesses and volunteers than ever joining their ‘Christmas with Dignity’ campaign and helping the organisation bring a little joy to hundreds of individuals and families.

As a result of the donations already received, Dignity will provide more than 500 Christmas hampers to individuals and families doing it tough. The donated hamper items include Christmas table treats and pantry essentials which will be packed by volunteers at Dignity’s Christmas Headquarters, a warehouse space in Chullora generously donated by Fantastic Furniture.
Dignity’s CEO and Founder Suzanne Hopman said: “For many, this year’s festive season will no doubt be a welcomed respite from the months of upheaval experienced, however for those experiencing ongoing financial hardship and homelessness, this Christmas may prove especially difficult.
“That’s why we are preparing to provide more Christmas hampers to more people than ever this year and I am so thankful to everyone who has donated and to our wonderful team of volunteers.”
Dignity will also provide Christmas Gift Cards for those experiencing homelessness and staying in Dignity’s supported temporary accommodation.
