Christmas tree sale offer

TRADITIONALLY used to celebrate festivals (pagan and Christian) for thousands of years, Christmas trees are a household necessity at this time of year and a lot of families prefer the look, smell and feel of a real tree compared to a plastic one.

If you are wondering where to pick up yours, Padstow Rotary has come to the rescue offering a Christmas tree sale of the freshly cut beauties on the corner of Bullecourt Road and Henry Lawson Drive, Milperra, next Saturday, December 12, from 8am until stocks last.
Rotary Padstow Club Services Director Charlie Mille says a Covid-safe plan has been registered with NSW Health for the day to keep all attendees safe, with social distancing required.
“Trees are in short supply following bushfires earlier this year but we will have five-foot (152cm) trees for $75 and six-foot (182cm) for $95, with a limited number of tree stands also available for sale,” he said.
“A major fundraiser for the Padstow club, proceeds of the day will be used to support both local and international projects.”
Residents are advised to treat your cut tree like you would a cut flower in a vase; the base should remain submerged in water and continually topped up throughout the month.
Place in a spot that gets filtered morning light if possible and allow it to avoid the heat of the afternoon sun.
When the festive season in over, dispose of your Christmas tree by composting or cutting it up and placing in your green waste bin or you may prefer to repot your tree into a larger pot to keep it healthy for next year.
