Christmas bedtime tales to enjoy in 12 day lead-up

HAVE you heard the one about ‘The Naughtiest Reindeer’ or ‘Stinkzilla Versus Christmas’?

You may be more familiar with ’T’was The Night Before Christmas’ or ’12 Boats A Blinking’?
These fun children’s stories and more will soon be on offer nightly, 6-6.30pm, courtesy of Cumberland libraries in the 12 days leading up Christmas, Sunday, December 13, to Thursday, December 24.
Library Program and Events Co ordinator Kirsty Plumridge said they hoped the Christmas stories would go some way to make up for their pre-Covid, face to face, Christmas storytime parties and morning teas.
“We’ve had to think quite creatively to involve children and their families in the lead up to Christmas that’s different in the way we would normally do things,” she said.
“The 12 Days of Christmas Bedtime Stories initiative will be a lot of fun for children to get them excited about the festive season while at the same time, helping to develop their love of books and reading.
“It’s free and all parents have to do is log into our facebook page from 6pm nightly.”
