Mr Abbas, 30, who was shot about 10.25am on Wednesday, July 6, in the driveway of his Narelle Crescent home, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition. He has since been released.
As part of their inquiries, police have released CCTV of the incident as well as images of a black jeep recovered in Wiley Park on Thursday, July 27.
The footage shows Mr Abbas in the driveway of the home, before he is approached and shot by an unknown man who appeared to have been waiting in the black Jeep across the street.
Detectives are appealing for anyone with information about the incident, the identify of the male, or the movements of the car to come forward.
