Children’s centre erupts in fire

POLICE want to speak to a man seen running from the scene as a Padstow childcare centre erupted in fire last Wednesday night (pictured).

Shortly after 9pm, emergency services were called to Kim’s Kindy in Gwandalan Road and found the premises well alight.
The fire was extinguished a short time later while police spoke with several witnesses at the location.

Police have begun an investigation into the incident and have appealed for anyone with information about suspicious or illegal activity in the area prior to 9pm to come forward.
The owners of the centre said they “will not be discouraged by this act of violence and will be working hard to reopen Kim’s Kindy as the police bring the perpetrators to justice”.
Anyone with information or dash-cam footage relating to this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
