Cheer riders at fundraiser for blue family

EVERYONE’S invited to show their support and cheer on riders taking part in the second ‘Legs for Police Legacy’, to raise awareness and support for NSW Police Legacy.

The ‘family friendly’ 24-hour spin bike challenge will be held at Belmore Sports Ground from 10am on Sunday, August 13, to raise funds for the charity which supports serving and retired police officers in times of tragedy and need, and cares for the wider police family when they are facing difficult times.
There will be a barbecue, face painting, DJ, Henna tattoos, and the chance to win some amazing prizes including a Nordic Proform C14 Spin Bike valued at $2,299, signed Bulldogs jerseys and lots of vouchers from supporters like Bunnings, and passes to the Sydney Opera House, Zoo and many others.
One of the organisers, Campsie Senior Constable Deirdre Barham, said the inaugural event, in which several senior police also took part, raised $17,000 last year and they’re hoping to hit $20,000 this year.
“Everyone can do their bit … jump on the fundraising page (policelegacynsw.org.au) and make a donation or come down on the day and enjoy a great family fun day out – and support police,” she said.
