Charity food box ‘to benefit community’

REGIS Belmore has come up with a new concept to give back to the local community by creating a charity food box.

Manager Renju Mani said residents and staff at the facility – which provides aged care services to 64 residents from the surrounding area – pitched in to construct the food box, filled it with non-perishable food items and installed it at the front of the Regis Belmore complex at 27 Redman Parade.
“We feel this is a great spin off from the Street Library concept and the philosophy of give what you can, take what you need, is well and truly alive with the staff, residents and families of Regis Belmore,” Ms Mani said.
“We invite members of the community to drop off any packaged or canned items like noodles, pasta, rice, vegetables and beans when they have extra and of course, when they are low on groceries, are welcome to take what they need in return.”
