Charged with sex offences

Officers from the Police Transport & Public Safety Command have charged a man from Lidcombe with sex offences following investigations into reports of numerous sexual-related incidents on the north-west rail line last month.
Between Saturday and Tuesday, February 22-25, police received four separate reports from women alleging a man sat next to them on a train travelling on the north-west line and performed a sex act upon himself.
The women reported the incidents to police and an investigation was commenced by officers from the Police Transport Command North West Transport Action Group.
About 7.40pm yesterday (Wednesday, April 15), a 34-year-old man was arrested at his home in Lidcombe.
He was taken to Auburn Police Station where he was charged with four counts of carry out sex act with another without consent.
He was given conditional bail and is due to appear at Burwood Local Court on Thursday, July 2.
As inquiries continue, police would like to remind members of the public who use public transport, and may have had a similar experience, to always report the incident to police.
