Charged with murder over alleged shooting

A MAN has been charged with murder over the alleged shooting of Ferenc ‘David’ Stemler in Canterbury last July.

Mr Stemler, 28, was allegedly shot in Broughton Street, Canterbury, about 2am on July 27 and despite the efforts of paramedics, died at the scene.
Following further inquiries – including a public appeal for information – a 30-year-old man was transferred from a correctional centre in Silverwater to Burwood Police Station, where he was charged.
A man and woman have also been charged and remain before the courts.
Police allege the man was in the white commodore at the time Mr Stemler approached it and was fatally shot.
Inquiries under Strike Force Murrell continue.
