Charged twice for not restraining child

AN unaccompanied learner driver from Regents Park, has been charged after allegedly being caught driving twice in 20 minutes, both times with an unrestrained child in the car.

The 37-year-old was first stopped about 6.30pm on January 1 in Regents Park for a breath test, with police finding a young child in the rear of the car not properly restrained.
The man was issued with a penalty notice for driving unaccompanied and having a passenger under four-years-old not properly restrained. His licence was also suspended on the spot.
About 20 minutes later, officers allegedly observed the same car being driven in front of them and when they stopped it, the child was still not properly restrained.
The driver was charged with driving while suspended and again with driving with an unrestrained passenger.
