Charged over shooting, home invasion

A THIRD man has been charged over a shooting and home invasion in Lidcombe last year.

Police said just before 10pm on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, three men armed with firearms forced their way into a property on Raymond Street West, where they fired a number of shots and assaulted a 31-year-old man inside.
The 31-year-old man was treated by paramedics for minor injuries, while a 30-year-old woman, 68-year-old man and 18-month-old baby who were also inside the property at the time were uninjured.
Hours later an allegedly stolen car, linked to the incident in Lidcombe, was found alight on Ascot Drive in Chipping Norton.
Two men have already been charged for their alleged roles in the shooting and remain before the courts.
Following further investigations, detectives arrested a 30-year-old man at a correctional facility in Bathurst and charged him with fire firearm at dwelling organised criminal activity and special aggravated break and enter and commit indictable offence weapon.
Investigations under Strike Force Lovelock continue.
