Charged over avocado, sausage theft

A MAN has been charged with robbery and trespass offences after he allegedly stole an avocado and frankfurt sausages from a supermarket at a shopping centre in Bass Hill.

Police will allege about 1.30pm on Tuesday, a 28-year-old man attended a supermarket at a shopping centre in Bass Hill and he was allegedly seen to conceal several food items including an avocado and frankfurt sausages down the front of his pants.
He was approached by a staff member to pay for the items when leaving the store.
The man allegedly refused and threatened the staff member before leaving the store in a vehicle.
Police from Bankstown Police Area Command were called to attend and commenced an investigation.
About 5.15pm that afternoon, officers attended a home in Kirrily Place, Bass Hill and arrested a 28-year-old man.
Food items, including the avocado and sausages, were allegedly located at the scene.
He was taken to Campsie Police Station and charged with trespass and robbery.
The staff member was not injured during the incident.
