Charge five with affray as man hurt in alleged brawl

FIVE men have been charged with affray after an alleged brawl in Merrylands last Friday night.

Police were called to Windsor Street, Merrylands, about 10.45pm, following reports of a brawl and found an 18-year-old man with facial injuries.
The man was injured after allegedly being assaulted during an altercation with four men who fled in a vehicle.
Police also located a hammer at the scene which was taken for forensic examination.
A short time later, the State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad stopped an Audi hatchback travelling on Burnett Street, Merrylands, and arrested the four occupants aged 28, 24, and two aged 26.
The 26-year-old was also charged with not stop vehicle when directed to do so, not comply P1 licence and not keep left of diving line.
