Last Tuesday about 3am, a man, 37, was allegedly abducted from a home in Bringelly by a group of men – one armed with a firearm – who forced their way into the house.
A 61-year-old man was also assaulted.
Several hours later, police located the man at an industrial warehouse in Revesby and following negotiations, he was released into their custody.
During ongoing negotiations, it will be alleged that the group set the Revesby property on fire.
He was charged with special aggravated break and enter with intent – armed with dangerous weapon, take/detain in company with intent to ransom occasion actual bodily harm, and possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority.
Seven men – two aged 23 and the others aged 27, 26, 22, 19 and a 16-year-old boy – have already been charged with take/detain in company with intent to ransom occasion actual bodily harm, special aggravated break and enter with intent – armed with dangerous weapon, tamper with evidence with intent to mislead judicial tribunal, and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity. Three men aged 27, 28, and 30 were also charged with principal in the second degree to take/detain in company with intent to ransom occasion actual bodily harm, and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.
Charge 11th over home invasion kidnap
A MAN from Belmore was the 11th to be charged over the alleged kidnapping of a man during a home invasion.
