A sponsor of the club for the last three years, Pikkio owner and chef Daniel Mari says he loves working in the local area and supporting its hard-working sporting groups.
“It’s nice to be able to give back to the local community; I am very happy to help,” he said.
East Hills Junior Rugby League Club President Rowan Brown says that unless a club has sponsors, it can’t survive.
“The fees you get from the players cover about a quarter of our costs,” he said.
“We rely heavily on the sponsors to keep the kids on the park.”
He says unlike other codes, registration is free at his club with an Active Kids Voucher.
“We supply all the shorts, socks, shirts, hats and jerseys to make it easier on family budgets and ensure that kids who want to play are able to and not restricted by financial pressures.
“We can only do it because we have fantastic sponsors, such as Pikkios, and we are extremely grateful.”
