Doubling as a second-year anniversary celebration for AWS as well as a fundraiser for RSPCA NSW, AWS manager Debra Holloway said the show was a way to combine her two loves – wrestling and animals.
“I’ve always loved to watch wrestling and started AWS to bring the joy of it to a wider audience,” she said.
“I don’t do it for the money, I put on shows that I want to see and that I know others will enjoy.”
Admiring the work of RSPCA NSW, she said it was the best way she could help.
“I’ve even adopted ‘Zeus’ from one of their shelters,” she said.
“The Cavoodle only had two buck teeth and three legs when I adopted him. He weighed just 2.5kg but is now a happy, healthy pooch weighing 5.1kg and can run faster than most dogs with four legs.”
RSPCA NSW’ Ben Wilheim said: “There will be lots of goodies in the raffles and we are very happy to be receiving this support which will make a huge difference to how many more animals we can help.”
With top wrestlers from across Australia fighting for free on the day, including Doomination, Mikey Lord, Nicki Nitro and Robbie n Ryan Eagles, the family event will also feature a bar and food will be available.
For tickets to the show on Saturday, March 5, from 7pm – $40 for first and second row and then $30 after that, $70 for a family ticket and $15 for children, head to facebook.com/australianwrestlingsuperstars.
