Champ son to follow footstep

THE son of legendary boxing champion Nader Hamdan, Hassan is looking to follow in his father’s footsteps and will make his boxing debut in the pro ranks at Club Punchbowl next month.

One of the main features of the night on Saturday, August 17, Hassan is trained by boxing great Jeff Fenech, with father Nader preferring his multi-talented son pursue a soccer career but Hassan thinks otherwise.

Neutral Corner Fight Promotions’ Paul Nasari said: “It will be a huge card on the night with both amateur and professional boxing, with some local amateur boxers on the card.

“Headlining this event will be Jackson Donnelly vs Luke Bunder for the NSW Supermiddleweight title over eight rounds.

“It’s going to be awesome with fighters and spectators coming from everywhere, with many keen to see Grafton’s Ryan Cotton takes on Bondi’s Pablo Corea.

“Wollongong’s Jeremiah Jabbour in his pro debut, takes on Luke Southon of Bankstown, while North Sydney’s Haider Helfy taking on Taree’s Ryan Spencer, with plenty of more match ups to come.”

VIP Tables of 10 are available and include a three-course meal plus drinks – it’s a great way to entertain clients, family and friends.

General entry, $60; kids half price but must be accompanied by an adult.

All the fighters will weigh-in at The Mill Hotel the night before on Friday, August 16, from 6pm. Everyone is welcome.
