FSM (Food Services Machinery) Bankstown Sales Director Andrew Brett will be taking part in his third CEO Sleepout because the homelessness crisis is not getting any better.
“Everyone’s affected, with rent increases and interest rate rises causing a massive boom in homelessness,” he said.
“So many people have nowhere to live and so we are doing our bit to make things a little better by raising funds and awareness.”
The Lamson Group Sefton CEO Rodney Frost is taking part in his 15th CEO Sleepout and says he will continue to do so while ever he is physically able.
“My father was homeless as a young man as a result of his father dying when he was young and through one opportunity he was afforded, he worked very hard and made a life for himself getting off the streets,” Rodney said.
“It was that hand up that led to our family even existing.
“It’s a remarkable example of why this event makes a difference, it gives people in need that same opportunity.”
Padstow’s NA Group Director Nick Argyropoulos is taking part in his third Sleepout.
“Most Australians are not aware how rapidly homelessness rates are increasing,” he said.
“If the awareness is increased, then more of us can contribute to make a change for the better and hopefully abolish homelessness altogether.
“I believe in a country as privileged as Australia, we have the power and resources to ensure that homelessness does not exist in our country and that everyone has a safe place to call home.”
PPC Moulding Services Villawood Managing Director Grahame Aston has been taking part for three years.
“We too often take for granted the comforts we have, a warm bed with a roof over our heads,” he said.
“Not everyone is as fortunate and often not by their own doing.
“If we can make a difference sleeping out on cardboard or concrete for one night and raising money for Vinnies to help people doing it tough, then it’s a small sacrifice.”
