CEO Sleepout for homeless

THIS year’s Vinnies CEO Sleepout will be held on the longest night of the year – June 22 – but participating business leaders are gathering now to draw attention to the need to donate.

St Vincent de Paul Society NSW CEO, Yolanda Saiz, says the Vinnies CEO Sleepout is their biggest fundraising event of the year and vitally important to enable their services and members to provide assistance to people experiencing disadvantage.
“Participants not only raise critical funds but also use their privilege and influence to find ways they can help us bring about change in regards to housing and homelessness solutions,” she said.
Regents Park’s Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure CEO Mark Bruzzone is taking part in his third CEO Sleepout but said Chairman Mick Boyle had taken part in about 11, ever since the initiative was launched.
“We’re a civil infrastructure company building things like roads and bridges but we also like to build better communities and have a close association with St Vinnies,” he said.
“We want to raise funds as well as awareness and try to help do something about homelessness since the numbers now in Sydney are overwhelming.”
Miss Saiz said the continued operation of Vinnies’ homelessness services, domestic violence refuges and health services was dependent on people’s generosity.
“As the cost of living crisis and the ongoing housing affordability crisis continue to bite, we are asking people to be as generous as they can be this year and donate,” she said.
