Centre turning pink to host fundraiser

ENJOYING a pink-themed breakfast, a group of women also tried out a belly dancing and yoga class at Roundabout Youth Centre in Sefton at a fundraiser for Pink Ribbon Day last month.

Jointly hosted by Chester Hill Neighbourhood Centre, it was an opportunity to fundraise during Breast Cancer Awareness Month with all proceeds raised going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
“It was a really fun and worthwhile event which everyone enjoyed,” a spokesperson said.
Catering for children, young people and families, the Roundabout Centre features a range of activities five days week with a Playgroup and Homework Help on Mondays, Online Cooking course on Tuesdays, Learn to Skate Drop in and Mums Drop in on Wednesdays, a Youth Drop in and Playgroup on Thursdays and a popular Youth or Skate Drop in on Fridays.
The spokesperson said there were around 20 families alone that benefitted from the playgroup and dozens more young people at the Skate or Youth Drop ins.
“Our aim is to keep the community safe, supported and having fun,” she said.
“It’s wonderful to be back after Covid.”
