Celebrity chef to whip up lashings of fest fun

CELEBRITY MasterChef Matt Sinclair will headline the popular Bankstown Bites Food Festival this Saturday.

Matt, who finished runner-up in the eighth season of MasterChef Australia, is set to cook up a storm at the festival in Olympic Parade, Bankstown, 10am-5pm.

City of Canterbury Bankstown Mayor Khal Asfour says the festival is a celebration of cultural diversity, featuring foods from around world – whether that be curries, dumplings, pizza or paella – and that’s why it attracts thousands of visiting foodies each year.

“It’s going to be another great event and will once again highlight why people from throughout NSW continue to come to our premier food festival,” he said.

With a dazzling array of cultural cuisines from across the globe, the festival will also host a number of tantalising food tours.

The tours, which run for 60-90 minutes, cost $10 (plus booking fee) per person and will start at 11am and 2pm.

This year’s festival will also include:

• Longer food tours which take visitors on a journey, seeking out the hidden food treasures in Bankstown;

• A special wine bar area for adults; and

• An arts market at Bankstown Arts Centre.
