Celebrating outstanding wins across all subjects

RANKING 12th in the State, Meriden has achieved outstanding results in the HSC across all subjects.

More than 10 per cent of Meriden students received an ATAR of 99 or more, and 63 per cent of students received an ATAR of 90 or more.
Overall, 408 Meriden students appear on the Distinguished Achievements List and 23 students were named All-Round Achievers.
They excelled in languages including Spanish Beginners which saw Chiara Freeman place first in the State and Alannah Yenson come third.
In Chinese and Literature, Arianna Li came first and Lareina Ji placed second in the State, while Jessica Tan placed third in Chinese Continuers.
In Latin Extension, all students achieved Band 6 results.
In STEM, Harmoni Kwok came second in the State in Physics, while Jacinta Rees placed fifth.
Students achieved a high number of Band 6 results in Mathematics as well which far exceeded the State average.
Students also achieved strong results across all English courses – Meiying Tian placed eighth and Arianna Li came 10th in English EAL/D, while Laurena Fadel came eighth in English Advanced.
Music was impressive too, with all students in Music 2 achieving Band 6 in Music Theory. Gracelyn Yu’s Music 2 Core Composition was selected to be included in the Encore program, as were Grace Allen, Jolene Lee and Monica Teng for their compositions and Stella Hong, Sienna Kang, Amy Lee, Monica Teng and Alice Zhang for their performances.
In Applied Science, Charlotte Costello came ninth in the State in Community and Family Studies.
Meanwhile 80 per cent of Drama students achieved Band 6 results with performances nominated for OnStage.
The Design and Creative Arts student cohort also did well, with Annie Liu’s Visual Arts work selected for the ArtExpress exhibition while several Design and Technology works were nominated for the Shape exhibition.
