A “remarkable achievement”, they won the Grade 6 final against Soldier’s Point 55 to 49, after just scraping into the Regional Playoffs where they surprised everyone by defeating much more fancied teams to qualify for the state final.
Club CEO Michael Wilson said the club had enjoyed some great success over the last few years, and all the hard work was paying off.
He said that a few years ago the club was struggling to put a side on the green, but now will probably have four teams next year in Pennants, and would only get stronger with “a lot of younger people taking up the sport”.
