Celebrate nurses on prison staff

THE professionalism and compassion of nurses at the Metropolitan Reception and Remand Centre (MRRC) in Silverwater has been recognised at a celebratory barbecue, as part of International Nurses Day (May 12).

Justice Health NSW employs more than 1,200 nurses who play a vital role in ensuring patients in correctional settings receive high-quality care.
MRRC Nurse Unit Manager, Angela Cruden said the day was a great opportunity to bring together nursing staff at the centre to celebrate their achievements and showcase the great work they were doing to care for patients, while Justice Health NSW General Manager Primary Care, Rose Lougheed said it’s a challenging yet rewarding career, with staff “working incredibly hard to ensure we are returning healthier people to their communities … and it’s lovely to see our nurses being recognised for the important they work they do.”
