You are invited to be part of the celebration at an International Women’s Day lunch at Revesby Workers’ Club and discuss ways to help bring attention to gender parity and women’s rights.
With the theme this year, #ChoosetoChallenge, one of the speakers at the lunch, Annabelle Daniel is CEO of Women’s Community Shelters (WCS) and has been a leader in the social sector for over 20 years.
Annabelle has been leading change in the field of homelessness for women and children.
Before joining WCS, she was a leader in the Department of Human Services, overseeing the Child Support program.
She will be discussing establishing a women’s shelter in Revesby.
“There has been an increasing demand for these services locally,” she said.
“I will also be discussing the impact of the pandemic on family violence levels and am working with Revesby Workers’ Club to bring about a culturally safe shelter that’s connected with local service providers.”
Other speakers on the day include TV personality Jessica Rowe, who founded the craphousewife movement, celebrating women who feel they are not the perfect mother, wife or cook; and Detective Senior Constable Jane Prior who is the Domestic Violence and Child Protection Leader for Bankstown Police Area Command.
